The Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) on Tuesday issued an advisory for its citizens in Nepal, urging to take precautions amid violent protests against the ban on social media in Kathmandu. At least 19 people were killed and more than 300 injured in this violent performance.

The Ministry of External Affairs further said that India has been keeping a close watch on the events of Nepal since Monday and is very sad about the death of many youth. Ministry of External Affairs further said “We have been keeping a close watch on the events of Nepal since yesterday and are deeply saddened by the death of many youth. Our condolences and prayers are with the families of the deceased. We also wish the injured to be quick. Being a close friend and neighbor, we hope that all the concerned parties will be restrained and will resolve any issues through peaceful methods and conversations.”

Ministry of External Affairs further said “We have also taken cognizance that the authorities have imposed curfew in many other cities of Kathmandu and Nepal. Indian citizens in Nepal are advised to take precautions and follow the steps and guidelines issued by Nepali officials.”

The Ministry of External Affairs said, “We have been closely monitoring the events of Nepal since yesterday and we have been deeply saddened by the lives of so many youths.” The Ministry said, “We express our condolences to the families of the divorves and wish the injured to get well soon.”
The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement, “As a close friend and neighbor, we hope that all the parties will be restrained and resolve any issue through peaceful methods and negotiations.” The Ministry has also appealed to the Indian citizens present in Nepal to take care in view of the situation. The statement said, “It has also come to notice that the authorities have imposed curfew in many other cities of Kathmandu and Nepal. Indian citizens present in Nepal are advised to be cautious and follow the instructions and rules issued by Nepali officials.
Indefinite curfew implemented in Kathmandu
Meanwhile, officials imposed indefinite curfew in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu on Tuesday. These restrictions were re -implemented a few hours after the previous order was removed. Kathmandu District Administration Office issued curfew orders in the entire capital city till next information from 8:30 am.
The decision was taken to bring the situation under control after a clash between security forces and youth groups on social media on Monday. 19 people died and more than 300 were injured in clashes. The previous curfew ended at 5:00 am. The notice issued by Chitlal Rizal, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu stated, “The movement of people during curfew, any kind of gathering, demonstrations, pickets, gatherings and dharna will not be allowed.”
The notice stated, “However, emergency services including ambulances, firemen, health workers, tourists, media persons and air travelers will be allowed to work in coordination with security personnel.”
