The campaign continued on Sunday to save about one thousand people trapped in the Tibetan part of Mount Everest due to the icy storm. Located at a height of more than 4,900 meters, the roads have been blocked due to snowfall, which have been deployed to hundreds of local villagers and rescue teams to remove.
The BBC quoted local media as saying that some tourists have already been saved. The snowfall started from Friday evening and intensified in the eastern part of Mount Everest in Tibet.
This area is quite popular among climbers. Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world, with a height of over 8,849 meters, and is called Mount Komolangma in China.
