External Affairs Minister Jaishankar held a meeting with FIPIC Foreign Ministers in New York

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday hosted a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Indo-Pacific Islands Cooperation Forum (FIPIC), which confirmed the public-centric agenda, emphasizing on health, technology and efficiency development. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Jaishankar said in a post on ‘X’, he was happy to host the FIPIC Foreign Ministers’ meeting in New York. It was glad to know that the 12-national action plan announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the FIPIC-three summit is going well.

He said, India and Pacific island country are development partners. Our agenda is public-focused and focuses on health, technology, capacity building and training. At the FIPIC’s third summit in the year 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the 12-Sitri Development Scheme for Pacific island in many areas including healthcare, renewable energy and cyber security.
