US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he was ready to ban Russia “second phase”. Besant said, “If the US and the European Union can come forward and ban Russian oil -buying countries, impose additional tariffs, the Russian economy will completely collapse, and for this President Putin will have to bring it to the conversation table.”
The Finance Minister further stated that the US is ready to increase pressure on Russia, “But we also need to bring our European colleagues along.” Besant said, “We are now in this race that how long the Ukrainian army can last and how long the Russian economy can last.”
It is worth noting that the Trump administration has imposed an additional 25 percent tariff for the purchase of Russian oil on India besides the 25 percent mutual tariff declared by the Trump. Earlier, from August 27, the total fees levied on New Delhi increased to 50 percent.
Very disappointed … India will buy oil from Russia: Trump
Earlier, Trump expressed his “deep disappointment” over India’s decision to “buy so much” from Russia. “We have imposed a huge tariff on India, 50 percent tariff, very high tariff. I (Prime Minister Narendra) have very good relations with Modi, he is very good.” Trump said at the Oval Office on Friday, “He came here a few months ago.”
The President was answering the question whether he is ready to re -establish relations with India, as bilateral relations are going through the era that many observers are described as their most stressful phase in more than two decades.

Several senior officials of the Trump administration, including Besant and Trade Advisor Peter Navarro, have argued that the continuous purchase of Russian oil by India is indirectly funding Moscow’s war efforts in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, New Delhi has sharply criticized the American tariff and described them as “inappropriate and inappropriate”. Defending its decision to buy Russian crude oil, India has constantly stated that its energy purchase policy is directed by national interest and market dynamics.
